EHS Open Day - Garden Skills & Crafts

Saturday 29th June 1pm to 4pm

Join us for the EHS Open Day at Emsworth Friends Community Gardens (next to the Doctor’s Surgery on North Street)
from 1pm to 4pm

Everyone is welcome
Members and non members and entry is free.

If you are able to help set up the marquees and tables between 11.00 and 12.00 or help with close down at 4.00pm please contact events@emshs.org.uk
We also need volunteers to help serving teas and coffees throughout the afternoon.

Visitors can find out more about the benefits of belonging to the society, visit the stalls where you can learn about garden related skills and crafts, and browse items made by stallholders which will be available to buy, and take part in the free raffle to win one of the flower arrangements being made on the day by a prize-winning flower arranger.

Homemade cakes and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon.

There will be a programme of hands-on activities, mini-talks and demonstrations throughout the afternoon.

Southdowns Baskets will be sharing the art of willow weaving. You can also learn about: tool maintenance; bee keeping; the science of making good compost; and techniques for using peat free soil for seedlings and potting on. At the Men’s Shed stall you can try your hand at building bug hotels. Felix Tabitha, the Emsworth craft shop specialising in fused glass, will have a stall where you can design one of the clay tiles to be made into a mosaic sign for the society’s distribution hut.

Each of the stall holders will be providing periodic mini information sessions as well as demonstrations throughout the afternoon.
