Talk: Organic Gardening by Ray Broughton

Thursday 27th March, 7.30 pm

Ray will share insights into organic gardening including:

• what to look for when selecting a peat free compost
• how to manage the compost in the greenhouse and outside in the garden
• the use of organic materials for the successful growing of plants in organic based peat free compost.

The talk will also will include organic fertilisers both solid and liquid and also the use of organic pesticides.

Ray Broughton was the Head of Horticulture at Sparsholt College for 12 years and has taught Horticulture for over 40 years. In 2000 the Chartered Institute of Horticulture awarded Ray the Fellowship of the Institute in recognition of his services to horticultural education.
