Martyn Denney - A Horticultural Journey through Japan

Martyn Denny took us on an extraordinary botanical journey through Japan beginning on the island of Yakushima, which is a subtropical and renowned its ancient forests and wildlife. Martyn’s tour navigated us through the significant diversity of flora in Japan, visiting botanical gardens, exploring the Japanese Alps and National parks and touching on the life’s work of Dr Tomitaro Makino. His six week journey finally concluded in Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido. We expressed our sincerest thanks to Martyn for speaking to us this evening. His talk was incredibly informative, and the excellent slides provided a superb insight into his tour. We truly appreciated the time and effort he put into sharing his experience with us.
